well iv just been told by Christie her self that she is once again pregnant, with Connor only 9 months and not quite crawling or teething she is gonna have fun when she is at the tired stage but it should make this one fly by...

well Michael went and had his routine eye test and he needs new glasses once again but lucky he has them paid for by the Defence so that is a HUGE plus 2 pair normal everyday and 1 pair sunnies (they are costing us $50 as he chose Oakley ones and they were not part or the totally free army range) but the glasses he is getting are VERY nice and this time round he is getting multi focal so it will be funny watching him get used to them... He will be a little noddy to start with and stairs are going to be a hoot...

so anyway i thought i may as well also go for an eye test as i have health cover now and thought id make use of it. and... well... umm... err... i needed glasses not because things are blurry but because i do loose focus sometimes and have to refocus as my eye's "don't communicate" so they are meant to help that out... so anyway a big bill later as the health cover didn't 'cover' the lot i now have glasses....

oh and I'm kinda liking them cause its something new like a hair cut or something... but ask me that in a few months when i think they are a pain to remember all the time...

Just so you know guys, What it is to be a true Army Girl...

1.) If she wasn't emotional before, that is all about to change.

2.) You getting a higher rank could just mean an automatic free lay.

3.) Get her a pair of dog tags, ASAP, This is crucial, she will never take them off.

4.) Most of the time, everything is your fault. (This especially goes for when she is pregnant)

5.) She WILL start talking like your guys and you talk, including using your last names.

6.) Her patriotism could out-do most of your men... she will be proud... VERY proud.

7.) Be Ready: your car will end up with a yellow ribbon magnet or an "I LOVE MY _____" sticker eventually. (if you have separate cars, hers will DEFINITLY have these)

8.) She will most likely need a pair of dog tags to hang from the car's rear view mirror. (see 3)

9.) Every week she'll have "another song" that makes her think of you when you're away. (And she'll cry to it, even when you're in the same room)

10.) If you're married, she may know the base better than you do... Don't take it personal.

11.) You will catch her comparing your relationship with "other couples" in the military constantly.

12.) She'll make 5 million friends online, and talk to you about them all the time because her "old friends just don't understand" like they do.

13.) Don't be shocked when she just drops civilian chicks out of her life like flies. (she mostly does this when they complain to her)

14.) DO NOT if you love her; say anything about you not wanting to make her wait for you... (TRUST me men, YOU ARE WORTH every breath to these women, or they wouldn't be here)

15.) Most women actually do LOVE it when you are sweaty and dirty, even the girlie girls. It's sexy as hell.

16.) You ARE our hero. That isn't us being cute, it's us swelling with pride, feeling like a princess every time we glance over and you're standing there.

well the army in their wisdom chose to put us in a house that the lease is going to run out half way through our posting so now we are moving... we were told this on Friday last week and we were told that we had to be out within 5 weeks... AHHHH went my head then the next day after hating DHA decided this was going to be an exciting thing and not to bore you with ALL the details we have found 'THE HOUSE' and we no longer have 5 weeks we now only have just 2 yep that's right just 2... So anyway ill put more details and pics when i can so if I'm not talking around the end/start of the month its cause we are in transition...

today is mothers day and we went to billabong sanctuary on a 'defence family fun day' where we got free admin and a free sausage sizzle which was great... the best part of the day for me was holding 2 crocodile's just look at the look on my face... plus also i got other pics for you to see... well i did my first Tupperware party and...

i survived!!!

things went well and i didn't shrivel up and climb into one of the containers like i thought i would, but instead i believe i found out i can get up and talk in front and OVER people...

one of my biggest fears are conquered...

my kit is now 1/2 way paid off so 1/2 way in actually making money to keep (umm... well... spend anyway... hahaha)

well today was an unusual day it all started when i needed to wash my uniform for tonight's Tupperware meeting......

I went out to hang some washing on the line around 10-10.30am and i could hear an alarm (smoke alarm) and it was a little quiet so i didn't think to much of it and i finished hanging out my washing. Then i went inside but by then i was worried about where the alarm was coming from. So i got dressed because i was still in my PJ's and grabbed the phone to ring the Kirwan fire station to tell them there was an alarm going off but i didn't know what house it was at but as I'm walking out the back door i spotted smoke coming out of the back window of my next door neighbours house and then it all started....

I hung up from being on hold from 12455 and dialed 000 at this stage i think i just telaported over to next door as it went by like a flash. Smoke was also coming out the front windows and i tried all the doors and garage banging on all the windows because i didn't know if anyone was inside or not and they have little kids so i was stressed out of my brain, I would have looked like a mad woman...

Well to cut this story short, the house is fine, no one was home, no one got hurt, the smoke was worse than the problem but much longer it could have been 100 times worst so the fireman told me... no fire damage just the house smells REALLY bad and will for a while.

It was something left on the stove that was forgotten to be turned off...

whoops...

So all in all I'm soooooooooooo glad i was home and went to hang my washing out on the line and so is my neighbours

The worst feeling that iv ever had was having the lady that lived there collapse in my arms...

sooooo not the best feeling...

house to pass time, and then realized that she had no

idea what she was doing and sighed and wished she had

a little help.

This is for all the lonely nights, all the one-person

dinners, and all of the wondering thoughts because you

haven't heard from him in days.

This is for the sad Army wives,

and the strong Army wives.

A toast to you for falling apart,

and putting yourselves back together.

Because a pay check isn't

well i had a great day after i was gonna kill michael this morning but it was all good he was sweet... thankyou to all for your birthday wishes it made today as great as it was. For the first time ever i had chips down at the beach at dusk it was so nice but oh my god windy.... michael's quote was - "its so windy i cant look forward" oh my god did i laugh so hard at that. Plus i was out the front of the hospital i was born at exactly 28 years earlier so that was cool for me.

turns out this wasn't a little flood for townsville as it was a pretty big thing for in townsville itself. the news showed house's and cars flooded and the people saying they had been here their whole life and they hadn't seen it this bad ever...

to me this is a big thing anyway as i have never seen nor experienced it but i do hope it dose not get any worse...

but the rain just keeps pouring down...

well its sunday afternoon and its been raining all day today on and off but in just 1 hour townsville was reported to get 80 to 110mm... yep that was just in 1 whole hour...

our backyard is a little flooded but the grass still covers it but cora is enjoying it.

we decided to go for a drive to see where else was affected and oh boy was it affected...

we come across mount view park that has temporarily been turned into a water park then we went and saw the drainage way to our area of flooding...

well lets hope is dose not rain much more...

the other night when michael was on duty i did some scrapping and here is the first page of matilda's section of the niece and nephew scrap book i'm just waiting on printing out more pictures to finish off the other 2 pages i did of her.

i also did some of lilly but i need a couple of things to finish them off and i also started one for "clone" but as we know it can not be finished till he is out on good behavior after being inside 9 months...

well today we decided to go have a look at the ross river dam, cause a few weeks before christmas they had their grand opening... well... no its not finished yet but still we got to walk to the top and yes i did it... had to stop a couple of times but i made it. the pic i took from not quite at the top of what we walked dose not show exactly how long or steep it was. the scene was ok but not spectacular i think we were expecting something a little better than that. they need to put some seating and a water tap up there for the tourists and a little more shelter... but anyway we have been and seen and prob do it again once we know it is 100% finished...

well i woke up at 5am as usual (with no alarm) and i was kind to all and didn't ring anyone till 5.45am and i also didn't disturb the ones with new bubs as they would have a hard enough time as it is...

this year i contained myself and showered and had breakfast BEFORE i even looked at the tree... its alot quieter than a christmas i am used to as this is my first christmas with out ANY family its just michael and me and that's it...

now everything is cooked and house is clean and we have gift's for each other and the pets we can now sit back and relax and enjoy christmas.

tonight i will leave out for santa a nice cold beer and a mince pie

well cause iv been very busy i havent had a chance to update you all on the babies so....

lilly is out of hospital now and doing really well (eating, sleeping, pooing and keeping mum and dad up)... she is now just over 8 weeks old and still going with the trend of early as they would normally keep babies in till around there normal due date and little lilly was not due till 17th dec so you go girl...

grub is going great guns too she will be out any day now because bree has mild hypertension and the doc has put her on maternity leave as of last wednesday. bree is booked in (at this stage) to get induced on 19th, 7 days before her due date so grub should be here no later than the 20th but we will see i guess...

clone well there is no denying that he is a HE!!! christy's scan on the 23rd confermed that so they are a little more excited. at this stage with about 7 weeks to go there is no problems, complications or anything like that and at this stage christie is still at work but iv been told getting quite big...

well last night was Halloween

i have no idea what it is meant to be about, only that people dress up and go door knocking to get lollies and things so i got into the spirit of things and dressed up.

i had heaps of lollies for kids but only had 1 lot come around.

others were saying that there were lots coming to their houses but they must have been to tucked out by the time they got to our house but anyway i went to craig and MJ's to show off my outfit and nilly gave MJ a heart attach...

this hasn't killed my enthusiasm i will still do it again next year...

well melissa is now out of hospital, she was discharged on thursday.

lilly is also doing very well being moved up rooms again, now in room 3 its just awesome to see.

there isn't much else to report there except that but here is a photo of all 3.

well they announced piglets name today... it is

"Lilly"

i am so excited cause i really love that name but sorry ill take a few steps back...

melissa woke up on friday and where they keep patients that have been in an induced coma in ICU for a few days after they wake, melissa was put out of there the very same day... mel is doing very well improving every day, she is up and giving everyone cheek i think they were going to try to make her walk a few steps today. she had all her spirit yesterday singing and playing the air drums... lol...

now "Lilly" she is going great guns, on friday she was moved from room 8 (room 8 is the highest care and it goes down to room 1 where that is the last room before they go home) straight to room 5, they normally keep the baby in room 8 for 2 to 8 weeks and she made it out in less than 1 and even jumped a few, she now the only tube in lilly is the feeding tube in her nose and even then only because a baby at only 30 weeks dose not have the sucking motion yet. lilly is still in a humidity crib due to her body temp needs to be kept steady and something about oxygen levels. melissa and craig got to hold lilly for the first time today so very exciting for them.

well that's it for now, i will keep updating when i get more updates.

updated news for melissa and 'piglet'...

well first piglet is doing well and pretty much breathing for herself now but they do still have to have her on a c-pap machine and she is now been put in a humidity crib (sounds worse but they said it is a step up). today she got t have some of melissa's breast milk cause she was screaming her little lungs out and again they say its a really good sign...

now melissa... well she is still in an induced coma since sunday ( she dose not even know she has had a little girl yet let alone had a baby) :o( the liver is doing ok but they need to look at her heart and did a cat scan on her head to rule out other things. she had ALOT of fluid on her lungs but today there is less so things look good there. craig got to do her hair this morning and her face screwed up and went red so there is good response from her. so each day she is getting better but still don't know when they will wake her up properly. i hope its soon so she dose not miss to much of piglets first few days plus she needs to be better for herself and us.

craig is a very proud dad and at the same time a very stressed husband as you would expect.

well that's it for now and i will update more when i can.

but all in all things are getting better NOT worse...

and piglet is a little girl, whisked off to ICU but they say she has good colour,

well melissa has a few complications today, she has just been rushed into surgery to get piglet delivered today at 1 day shy of 30 weeks. this is because melissa's liver has actually failed so mel wont be in the all clear for a while but we have high hopes for piglet but we do have everything and i mean everything crossed for them both to be well... i WILL keep you updated when i know more... :o( i am flying down tonight to see them, i will be there for at least 2 weeks...

WOW what a weekend!!!

Kylie and David came for the weekend to visit

they arrived on Friday night and first stop was

back home for Kylie to change cause she was hot... lol...

well after that we went and showed them the night view

of Townsville including up Castle Hill. They were just

amazed at the view. Then on Saturday we went to Reef HQ and

the Museum then back home for the boys to watch the AFL

grand final, after that we zipped up Mt Stuart to see the sunset

but we just missed it it was at dusk by the time we got up there but still

was beautiful. Then on Sunday we went to Magnetic Island to

go snorkeling and oh my god how awesome was that we had

the best day catching the sunferry over and hiring a purple moke...

yep the only purple moke on the island, we nick named it the

flying purple people eater...lol... and we were home

to go out for a great tea at an all you can eat Thai restaurant to

make it home to watch the last half of the NRL grand final.

Then today was a lazy relax day as we all got sunburnt yesterday

and they were going home tonight. We have just dropped them back at

the air port and they are reluctantly on their way home to cold old Victoria... :o(

20 years ago I . . . was 7, and playing with dolls with my brothers

10 years ago I . . . was 17 and left year 11 2 weeks before the end to work day hours at my job at kings supermarket... not such a good idea!!!

5 years ago I . . . was 22 working at the local meat works and really hating a guy called Michael...

3 years ago I . . . was 24 and making wedding plans with the love of my life Michael... (yep the one i hated) and supporting my mum through breast cancer...

1 year ago I . . . was 26 and i was saying bye to my husband of 7 months Michael as he left for 3 months to join the army

So far in the past 12 months I . . . have had a long distance relationship with my husband for 6 months, moved back home during that time, packed my bags and moved to Townsville with Michael where i was born, found out one of my good friends is having a baby in October and found out all 3 of my brothers are going to be dads around Christmas time... but the list dose go on...

In the past week I . . . have found out Jason and Bree are having a girl and Stephen and Christie are having a boy...

Yesterday I . . . baby sat one of my good friends children, took Zoe to Reef HQ, car nilly died on me (but yey looks like they finally know what the problem is), had a precious statue broken, but i did get to speak to my mum on the phone :o)

In the next year I shall . . . go visit my friends and family in Vitoria especially the 4 new arrivals.

5 things I'm grateful for. having a loving family, having my friends, having a time to enjoy life, having phones and computer to share my life with my family and friends and most of all having my one true love Michael...

will today i went to the "jame's cook uni" family open day

with joyce and the kids to see Christine Anu... it was great but she did only do 4 or 5 songs but

still i enjoyed it... something i'v never done so yeah another tick in the achieve box!!!

the other day i was baby sitting my friends 4 year old daughter zoe

when she came out with a doozy....

she asked quite politely if she could have a lolly

and i said "i don't have any"

so she then came back with "you could buy some"

again my response was to get out of it "sorry but i don't have any money"

Well i get alot of questions just to what micat stands for, so i thought id tell you right from the start. Its simple really mic is the first 3 letters from michaels name and cat is the first 3 letters of my name (catherine) so i just put them togther... I dont know how i thought of it, it just came to me in a split seconed when we had to come up with an email address... so well there you go the story of micat!!!

I'll tell you About me first!

Hey just thought id start telling you a bit about me. It might take a while cause the first thing is im a very slow typer and crap speller but i promice you will get most of it... Well im 27 and have just moved to Townsville with my husband Michael he has just joined the army and this is our first posting, i was born in Townsville as my dad was in the army and when i was 3 months old we moved to Seymour where i lived my entire life... As for Michael he has done the moving around thing cause his dad is still in the army. Seymour was the longest he has stayed in one town! We met in May 2000 both starting a traineeship at Ralphs Meat works Seymour. In the group of 12 we were kind of the ones that got picked on (not the cool kids) so we were forced to sit with each other alot till we made our friends and then oh boy did we HATE each other or what! still to this day i dont know how we ended up together but here we are over 7 years later and been happily married for more than a year... We got together officially on the 7th Feb 2003 that was a friday i think so when it came time to make a date for the big day i wanted the 7th feb as im a very centermental person and well to alot of peoples frowning we married on the 7th feb that fell on a Tuesday but oh well i loved it cause the other thing about me is that i like to be diferent... not way out there diferent but just diferent! So yeah thats that part of my life and now im here back in my birth town 27 years later. I do LOVE it up here but REALLY miss everyone back in Seymour thats the only down side but ill get there! My very best friend is Kylie we are so alike in so many ways and to her i was her... um... how did she put it... her suriget child! she spoiled me like she would for her very own child and no she is only 2 years older than me but she has alot of fertility problems (one of our thing we have in comon) When i moved she thought she go aply for joint custerdy and make Michael leave me there... But she is managing with snail mail and the phone. I never had any sisters so a few years ago i decided to adopt 2 myself...(well kind of) Naomi who i call nomi and Illona who i call lona these two sisters have been there for me through so much they became more than best friends to me they are to me my sisters and i even love their mum and dad like a second mum and dad. Well not much to say there but yeah... um... i just love em... if you aleady know me you will know of my problems and my desier it is to have a child but unfortunately nature isnt very nice to us we dont have speed bumps we have brick walls... my one and only dream in this world is to be a mum it hurts so so much i dont have one. (here come the water works) but any way my sister inlaw Bree is pritty much the same as me but recently they found a crack in the wall! Yep they are prego's oh my god when i got the phone call oh boy Bree must have thought she told me someone had died i was just so excited for her i howled and couldnt talk she had to ring back later that night 8 hrs later by that time i told the world im gonna be an aunty and straight away i was onto ebay buying things but have finnaly slowed down after the 4th house morgage... LOL... Well now i have found out that my other sister inlaw is prego's to..."what the ...?" they are only 1 week apart.... but wait there is more.... dont know if i told you this yet but i have 3 older brothers and no sisters so there is only 4 of us... what are the odds of 2 being up the duff 1 week apart and both their first child? well i bet you wont belive me when i tell you the THIRD sister inlaw is prego's too with their first!!! Yep thats right she is 1 month behind the other 2 she also had problems falling prego's they have been trying for a few years too. So hows that not 1, not 2, but ALL 3 are having a baby... they all say i should have moved away along time ago...lol... Bring on December and January, ill keep you up to date.
